Roseanne follows the life of a middle-class family living in a small town in Illinois. The same definition of dysfunction, the Conner family is led by the pair Dan (John Goodman) and Roseanne (Roseanne Barr). While Dan and Roseanne live their marriages far from being ideal (albeit lovable), they struggle with a range of issues including lack of money, poor family relationships, and conflicts with friends and family. Neighbors. Along the way are typical growing pains that accompany the adolescent teenage years of their three children: Becky (Alicia Goranson, later replaced by Sarah Chalke of renowned Scrubs), Darlene (Sara Gilbert) and DJ (Michael Fishman) Roseanne's younger sister, Jackie (Laurie Metcalf ) is also regularly on the program and offers additional comic relief as he struggles to balance his countless career opportunities in finding the right man ... The first years of Roseannes sitcoms are entertaining, and both the writers and the actors do an excellent job.
